EDGE (Enhanced Data rates for Global Evolution), is one more step toward third generation of mobile telecommunications. It provides huge data transfer speed increase, and much faster access to all GPRS and MMS related services.

Its main advantages are:

• Data transfer speed (EDGE: 236 kbps; GPRS: 53.6 kbps; GSM: 9.6kbps);
• Faster access to mobile Internet and appropriate services
• Faster access to MMS and appropriate services
• Same charging principle as for GPRS (data volume based)
• Same MMS charing with benefit of much faster sending and reception.

EDGE is available to all Telenor customers. In order to be used service must be activated.

Service can be activated, free of charge, by call to Customer Service number 1188 or by request made in any of the Telenor shops.
