GPRS

GPRS (General Packet Radio Service), is service which allows you data transfer, Internet access, as well as access to all other IP (Internet Protocol) based networks, through existing GSM network.

In comparison with GSM DATA, main GPRS advantages are:

• Data transfer speed (GPRS: 53.6 kbps; GSM: 9.6kbps);
• Easy Internet access
• All services are available almost at once
• New services available, such as MMS
• Charging based on transfered data volume

Who can use GPRS service?

GPRS is available to all Telenor customers.

GPRS service activation and phone configuration

All Telenor postpaid subscribers have activated GPRS service by default. In order to use it prepaid customers must activate service, by:

1. Call to Customer Service number 1188, and request for GPRS service activation
2. Sending configuration to your phone from our web site http://set.vor.telenor.me

Manual Configuration

Manual configuration is necessary in case that your mobile phone does not support automatic configuration.

General parameters are:

Profile name: Telenor MNE Internet

APN: internet

Username: gprs

Password: gprs

Proxy address : 192.168.246.005

Proxy port: 8080 or 9201 (depending on phone model)
