PC Setup

You can use your mobile phone as GPRS modem for Internet connection.

In order to do that, you need to:

1. Install drivers for modem on your PC (usually you have them on CD which you got with your phone or can be downloaded from your phone manufacturer’s web site).
2. Configure your modem:
• Open, Start: Settings: Control Panel: Phone and Modem options on your PC
• Select Modems tab from new window
• From the list of Modems select one which is related to your mobile phone
• Click on Properties, and after that on Advanced tab in new window
• In “Extra initialization commands” field type:
  AT+CGDCONT=1,”IP”,”internet” 
   
3. Create and configure new dial up connection on your PC:
   
• Open, Start: Settings: Control Panel: Network Connections
  
• Click on “Create new connection” and follow the wizard’s instructions

  Needed parameters are:

  Connection name: Telenor MNE Internet
  Username: gprs
  Password: gprs
  Dial up number: *99#

4. Open, Start: Connect to: Telenor MNE Internet, and click on dial. If your configuration is correct you will be connected to Internet in a few seconds.
